saya tak lupa menitipkan pesanan penaja yang berbunyi lebih kurang begini;
"Kurang manis, taruk jagung lebih, taruk susu lebih, kurang ais"

Kolo Mee can be eaten any time of the day, though I preferred to eat it for breakfast, lunch, and diner.
Sarawak Laksa, or Laksa Sarawak, or just: Laksa. Usually you need to get up early to get the good one, but even the bad one is good (so now imagine how good the good one is)!
Trust me, the name Kwayteow (quatch-yow) sounds quite close to something else which is intestines (quatch-yap, if I'm not mistaken). I confused the two dishes on a regular basis. Thank God I like them both!
Those should be fishballs on the plate, and also there's chili sauce in the background. Those are quite typical for Malysian food.

Be prepare to wait for your food.
It may take some time.
In the meantime, enjoy the complimentary poppadoms.

Bread is essential in tapas.
This is according to me.
The soft bread is a tool to mop up the gravy from every tapas dish.
|
The next tapas dish: was the star of the night.
Albodingas (beef meatballs with tomato sauce)
Thumbs up!
The meatballs were perfect.
Words cannot describe.
Perfection in and out.

My carbs were not sufficient, hence I call the emergency hotline for patatas bravas.
Potatoes stewed in tomato sauce!
A different take on the spanish patatas bravas.
|
Gambas al pil pil (stir-fried prawns in garlic and chilli oil).
But these were shrimps, as showned in the photo below.
Very tiny shrimps, by the way.
|
Eggplant in spicy Spanish sauce: berenjena mojo picon
lovely.
|
Creme brulee.
Besides meatballs, the other winner that wowed my tastebuds is this.
otherwise also known as crema catalana.
|
Crepe suzette served with orange sauce spiked with Cognac.
Just a quick diversion, do you know how to pronounce Cognac? :)
The crepe suzette was alright, but i preferred creme brulee.

Laksa Sarawak for brunch...
Roast Chicken (served w/ rice) at lunch.
Also with Steamed Chicken.
And Beancurd in Oyster Sauce. Yummy!
Umai Umai is a raw fish salad that’s particularly popular amongst the fishermen of Melanau, an ethnic group in Sarawak. It’s made with freshly-caught fish – typically mackerel, umpirang or bawal hitam – that’s been sliced into thin slivers. Additional ingredients include onions, chilli, salt and a satisfactory squeeze of lime or assam juice that gives the salad its signature sour taste. This interesting side dish is best enjoyed with a serving of white rice.

4. Midin
As no diet would be balanced without your greens, I’ve decided to include the Midin in this listing. This delicious yet nutritious dish is prepared by stir-frying a species of fern that can only be found in the jungles of Sarawak, and it’s unique because it remains enjoyably crunchy even after it’s been cooked, unlike other vegetables that usually turn soft. Garlic, ginger or shrimp paste is introduced to add flavour to the dish.
5. Sarawak Layered Cake
No trip to Kuching would be justified unless you’ve tried the famous Sarawak Layered Cake, a local interpretation of Kek Lapis Surabaya from Indonesia. Also popularly referred to as Kek Lapis Sarawak, these savouries are soft, moist, sweet and simply exquisite. They come in a variety of flavours and colours, and are usually sold uncut in clear rectangular plastic boxes.
